A total of 25 Afghan refugees have arrived in La Rioja in recent days, within the framework of the International Protection program of the Government of Spain. These people are welcomed in State resources - centers owned by the Ministry of Inclusion, or financed by it and managed by entities.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, has indicated today in a review of the so-called Operation Antigone that the Torrejón temporary transit device served 2,181 people evacuated from Afghanistan. In the presentation of the balance, the minister highlighted the effort that has been made to care for people evacuated on 17 flights landed over 9 days at the Torrejón base.
"Our priority - Escrivá highlighted - has been that these evacuated families can start their new life in Spain as soon as possible, for which it was necessary to be agile in the referrals to Email Marketing List resources, where they are already beginning their integration process." To this end, the Government of Spain offers families applying for International Protection the most suitable accommodation for each case, within which they will follow a personalized inclusion itinerary.

The minister has also indicated that the referrals to the central government's reception places in each Autonomous Community have been made after conducting interviews with the evacuated families and determining which resources were most appropriate for each case. Among other issues, their possible special needs, the existence of possible close family networks and the availability of the number of places necessary for each family unit at the time of referral are analyzed.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has highlighted "the response capacity of the State's international protection reception system in the face of this emergency" , and this, in a short period of time: the average stay of Afghan families in Torrejón has been 45 hours, much lower than the 72 hours initially set as a goal.
