Anyone who has lived through the nineties remembers the endearing miniature versions of Bimbo's delivery trucks. The scale replicas of the vehicles in which their products travel to the stores were put into circulation in those years and later for the second time in 2019. They are endearing, but they belong to another era... and the bear knows that well. The future is green. Globally, we live in an era of transition. We have realized that old habits have harmed the planet and we seek to create new models of behavior on an individual and collective level. In terms of mobility this means, among other things, sustainable vehicles capable of moving through clean energy. Thus, as part of its deep commitment to caring for our planet, Grupo Bimbo has announced that over the next four years - starting in 2020 - it will grow its fleet of electric delivery vehicles in Mexico by four thousand units. The above represents an investment of $2,800 million pesos.
It is worth remembering that, for more than eight consecutive years, the Mexican bakery has been recognized by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), thanks to its Ecuador Mobile Number List efforts in favor of the integration of clean transportation in its activities. of distribution. To date, more than a thousand vehicles powered by natural gas, more than one hundred powered by ethanol and 430 electric, form a fleet that works to reduce the emissions produced by the distribution processes of the bear brand. This is the largest fleet of electric delivery vehicles in Mexico and one of the largest in Latin America! In 2012 we began planning and designing what would be Grupo Bimbo's first electric vehicle. Today, thanks to the talent of Mexican engineers from our subsidiary Moldex, located in Lerma, State of Mexico, we have an electrical distribution fleet of more than 400 vehicles and we are ready to take this great step of increasing sustainable distribution by 4,000 units. to little stores in Mexico, which will operate without leaving a mark on the planet.

Javier González Franco, deputy general director of Grupo Bimbo. To achieve the goal, Moldex, a subsidiary company of Grupo Bimbo, has been working on the engineering and production of electric vehicles since 2012. It will be in charge of supplying a total of 1,000 units annually for four consecutive years. All of them will be integrated into the different delivery routes in the country. The little delivery trucks will be the evolution of those whose replicas we had fun with in the nineties. These will be moved by the wind and will recharge their batteries with clean energy from the Piedra wind farm. Larga, located in Oaxaca. In this way they will fulfill a virtuous circle full of sustainability. The effort adds to Grupo Bimbo's actions to take advantage of clean energy in its plants, make water use more efficient and improve its packaging to make it biocompostable.
